The SmoliTec safety box for lithium-ion batteries is available as a powerful complete set including nine Extover® Fine fire extinguishing cushions with 5 liters each, providing a professional safety solution for the storage, transport, and handling of lithium-ion and LiPo batteries.
The combination of a UN-certified hazardous goods box and fine Extover® fire extinguishing granulate delivers a particularly high level of safety for workshops, industrial facilities, research environments, storage applications, and logistics.
The included Extover® Fine extinguishing cushions are filled with fine expanded glass granulate with a grain size of approx. 0.5–1 mm. Thanks to its excellent flow characteristics, the granulate fills cavities and gaps optimally while fully surrounding the batteries. This reduces movement and damage while ensuring excellent heat absorption and oxygen displacement.
The nine cushions are evenly distributed inside the safety box. Batteries are positioned between, below, and on top of the cushions to ensure secure embedding. After loading, the box is closed and additionally secured using the included securing strap.
In the event of a thermal incident, the inorganic Extover® granulate reduces oxygen supply, absorbs heat energy, and forms a sealing protective layer at high temperatures. At the same time, there is no secondary damage caused by water or aggressive extinguishing agents.
Important Notice:
This complete set is exclusively intended for undamaged or non-critical defective lithium-ion batteries according to packaging instruction P908 / LP904. If there is a risk that a damaged cell could ignite during transport, approval according to special provision 376 is required.
Batteries that are prone to rapid disassembly, dangerous reactions, flame formation, excessive heat generation, or hazardous gas release under normal transport conditions may only be transported under officially specified conditions.
