With a new design and state-of-the-art technology, over 20 years of experience in the design and construction of on-board electronics have been integrated into one device.
The changes are already visible on the outside: The most obvious is the new color TFT display, which can be read clearly even in full sunlight. The size of the display allows for a self-explanatory menu structure, which did not leave our test pilots with a single query during operation. Another visible change is the large heatsink milled from solid, which again significantly increases power supply performance. The overall size of the Competition SR2 has been significantly reduced. In keeping with its noble design, the associated SensorSwitch and TFT display have also been built into a milled aluminum housing.
The greatest innovations, however, only become apparent after switching on. Already on the main screen, all important information such as battery voltage, current, consumed capacity and all receiver-relevant information can be seen at a glance. In addition, status messages are displayed that are connected to the iGyroSAT or GPS III. In the menu itself you will find in a clear structure next to known menu items many new functions in 2 languages: German and English! For example, the new Competition SR2 has implemented the most powerful iGyro technology ever available from PowerBox-Systems. In conjunction with the optionally available iGyroSAT, 12 gyro axes are available, fully covering all existing model variations.
A sophisticated setting wizard enables the pilot to set up even models with, for example, two thrust vectors, ailerons and tailerons in just a few minutes. At the end of the wizard, the transmitter channels are assigned, the gyro effective directions are set, and the servos are connected to the outputs. Each gyro axis can also be fine-tuned from the transmitter with separate channels. A whole range of expert settings leave nothing to be desired when it comes to adjusting the iGyro to individual needs after the first setup flight.
Servo matching has not only been graphically reworked: with the PowerBox Competition SR2, the servo curve can now be adjusted via 5 points. The automatic servo matching has been newly developed. In addition to a main servo, you simply select up to two further servos, and at the touch of a button these 2-3 servos are precisely matched to each other within a few seconds! Two independent door sequencers are built into the Competition SR2. In addition to the landing gear, canopy controls with locking can be realized without additional devices. The first door sequencer can be taught-in within a few minutes with the help of a setup wizard - 3 modes are available. Further, special settings can be easily adjusted thanks to the graphic display, in which the whole time sequence can be seen at a glance.
For PowerBox and Jeti pilots, the Competition SR2 can be operated and adjusted almost completely* from the transmitter! Telemetry for battery and receiver data is fully developed for all supported systems. With GPS III connected, GPS data is also available - as far as the respective system allows.
