Extover® Coarse fire extinguishing granulate is a practical solution for improved safety when handling LiPo, lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries. The lightweight expanded glass granulate is ideal as a sample pack, for testing, demonstration purposes or as a small safety addition for battery shipping and storage.
Especially in RC modelling, workshops or when charging LiPo batteries, suitable fire protection is particularly important. In the event of a fire, Extover® can be applied directly onto the source of the fire. The granulate surrounds the fire, displaces oxygen and forms a protective layer.
At particularly high temperatures, the expanded glass can melt and spread over the surface of the burning material. This creates an airtight seal which crusts over as it cools down and can effectively reduce the risk of re-ignition.
Extover® is applied directly onto the fire until the source is completely covered. Depending on the burning object, a covering height of approx. 10 to 30 cm above the fire source is recommended.
The granulate is especially suitable for challenging fire loads such as metal fires, battery fires and lithium fires. In addition, Extover® stands out due to its low weight, easy handling and environmentally friendly material properties.
