The Extover® 2L Fine fire extinguishing granulate cushion has been specially developed for the safe storage, charging, and transport of lithium-ion and LiPo batteries. It provides a highly versatile safety solution for sensitive battery applications and electronic devices.
The ultra-fine inorganic expanded glass granulate with a grain size of 0.25–0.5 mm offers exceptional flow characteristics and can optimally fill even the smallest gaps and cavities. This makes Extover® Fine ideal for compact battery packs, drone batteries, RC models, sensitive electronics, and applications with high packing density.
In the event of a fire, the granulate surrounds the affected area, reduces oxygen supply, and forms a sealing protective layer at high temperatures. This can significantly reduce the risk of reignition while avoiding secondary damage caused by water or aggressive chemical extinguishing agents.
Thanks to its extremely fine grain size, the material is perfect for filling tight spaces, battery compartments, and transport containers. The cushion is ideal for workshops, industrial applications, research facilities, RC hobby use, drone applications, and many other lithium battery safety applications.
Extover® granulate is 100% inorganic, inert, aging-resistant, and maintenance-free. In addition, the material offers excellent liquid absorption properties, resistance to acids and alkalis, low thermal conductivity, and sound-absorbing characteristics.
The extinguishing effectiveness for metal fires has been tested by MPA Dresden.
