The YGE Sensor Kit enables propeller positioning for many current YGE speed controllers. Once correctly connected and configured, the propeller is automatically rotated into a defined stop position and held there. This function is especially useful for gliders with folding propellers, helping to reduce drag and ensure a clean, repeatable propeller position.

The propeller positioning function is available on most telemetry-capable YGE ESCs starting from firmware version V1.03527. An optional Hall sensor is required, which is included in this kit. Please note that propeller positioning will only start after the motor has been run at least once.

Compatibility:

Suitable for most telemetry-capable YGE ESCs from firmware V1.03527 onward
Not compatible with: YGE 35LVT, YGE Opto 135, YGE Opto 255

Note when using TexY:

When using YGE TexY for telemetry, the adapter board is not required
TexY provides the necessary connections for both telemetry and the positioning sensor

Installation and wiring:

Mount the Hall sensor on the motor firewall, typically at a distance of approx. 2 mm from the inner side of the spinner backplate
One magnet is mounted inside the spinner in the detection area of the sensor
Using the adapter: connect the ESC telemetry cable (blue connector) to the adapter board, observing the marked polarity
On the opposite side of the adapter, connect the telemetry cable to the receiver and the positioning sensor; both connectors are keyed to prevent incorrect connection

Configuration:

ESC firmware version V1.03527 or newer required
Current YGE PC software required
ESC must be set to mode 4 (glider with brake)
Activate propeller positioning in the “Advanced” settings
Positioning speed, holding time and power can be adjusted; using default values is strongly recommended initially

Safety notes:

Always perform initial tests without a propeller
Secure the model safely and maintain a safe distance during testing
Excessive positioning power can cause overheating and may damage the ESC
