As you may have noticed, we at Ugears love the sea and marine gear inspires our creativity. The idea behind the tractor was to create a functional mechanism with that certain something that would make it ground level and interesting.

The tractor is driven by a rubber band motor, which is driven by the tension of the rubber connected to a bearing. The reduction gear transmits energy to the drive wheel and further to the asymmetric wheel pair. The pendulum slows down and compensates for the movement of the tractor.

The asymmetry of the wheel pair gives the model its unique way to move by imitating a boat rocking on the waves. Meanwhile, the work pendulum generates a specific noise similar to that of the real diesel engine with which many boats are equipped.

The winding wrench on the drive wheel is blocked by a ratchet wheel. There are two control levers, one of which stops the mechanism and the other starts it accordingly. Use two ropes with hooks to tow and transport small wheel models or a paper boat. Your tug will run from 1.5 to 3 feet depending on the type of surface.
