The SM Modellbau GPS-Logger 3 is a complete 10 Hz telemetry GPS system featuring microSD storage, a high-resolution TEK vario and an integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor. Version 3 replaces the GPS-Logger 2 while remaining fully compatible.
Its compact dimensions and low weight make the GPS-Logger 3 suitable for gliders, aerobatic aircraft, helicopters, HLGs and slow flyers. It can also be installed in RC boats, RC cars and many other models.

Precise GPS recording at up to 10 Hz:
The GPS data rate can be set to 1, 2, 5 or 10 Hz. At the maximum recording rate, up to ten readings per second are stored. The data is saved as plain text on the included microSD card, allowing it to be processed by a variety of software applications.
At a 10 Hz data rate and full utilisation, approximately 200 kB of storage is required per minute. The included 2 GB microSD card therefore provides up to approximately seven days of recording time.

The required telemetry system only needs to be selected once using the free SM GPS Converter software or the UniDisplay. Graupner HoTT is selected by default. Depending on the telemetry system, settings and alarms can also be configured directly via telemetry.
High-resolution vario with TEK port:
A high-resolution pressure sensor provides precise vario measurements. The integrated TEK port supports compensation probes, allowing genuine climb and sink rates to be measured largely independently of control-induced changes.
A second pressure sensor provides accurate altitude data even when a TEK probe is being used. This altitude measurement remains independent of airspeed and is automatically reset to zero when the device is switched on.
Integrated acceleration sensor:
The integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor records loads on all three axes with a measuring range of up to ±16 g. The values can be viewed at each recorded waypoint and displayed live via telemetry.
OLC and Soaring League support:
The GPS-Logger 3 supports the OLC Online Contest format. Its integrated engine noise level sensor records ENL data, enabling motor run times during powered climbs to be detected automatically.
The digitally signed IGC file required for OLC is generated directly on the memory card, eliminating the need for additional conversion software. The GPS-Logger 3 can also be used for model glider flight evaluation with Soaring League.
Recording additional sensor data:
The GPS-Logger 3 can directly read the complete measurement data from a UniLog 1, UniLog 2 or UniSens-E and store it together with its own data on the microSD card. This function is not available while operating with Futaba, JR DMSS or FrSky telemetry.
When used with Multiplex M-Link, all data transmitted through the Multiplex Sensor Bus is automatically logged and stored on the microSD card. The receiver battery voltage can also be recorded.
Live display and programming:
The separately available UniDisplay can be used to view all measurements live and to configure settings and alarms. UniDisplay operation is not available while using Futaba, JR DMSS or FrSky telemetry.
Parameters can be configured using a PC, UniDisplay or telemetry, depending on the function. A receiver signal input also allows selected functions to be controlled remotely.
Data evaluation:
Recorded GPS data can be converted into the Google Earth format using the free SM GPS Converter software and displayed as a three-dimensional flight path.
The GPS-Logger 3 is also supported by LogView and GNU DataExplorer. These applications can display the recorded values as graphs, tables and other formats. The Java-based GNU DataExplorer is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
