The KAVAN Pilatus PC-21 is an officially licensed scale model of the modern Swiss turboprop trainer aircraft. With a wingspan of 1450 mm, numerous authentic details and a powerful 6S drive system, the model combines an impressive appearance with dynamic flight performance.
The durable high-strength EPO construction is thoroughly reinforced with plywood and carbon fibre. A fully detailed cockpit with painted pilot figures, distinctive LED lights and sprung electric retractable landing gear emphasise the authentic scale appearance.
Powerful five-blade drive system:
Power is provided by a factory-installed C5055-470KV brushless motor combined with a 13×10-inch five-blade propeller. The pre-installed programmable KAVAN R-100SB Plus speed controller with a powerful BEC reliably supplies the motor and onboard electronics. Each propeller blade can be replaced separately if necessary.
With a suitable 6S LiPo battery, the PC-21 offers strong thrust, high speed and impressive climbing performance. At the same time, the model delivers excellent stability and surprising agility during aerobatic manoeuvres.
Detailed scale construction:
The fuselage is made of durable EPO foam and features strong internal plywood and carbon-fibre reinforcements. The removable canopy provides convenient access to the electronics and battery compartment and is securely held in place by a mechanical latch.
The fully detailed cockpit features clear glazing and two screw-mounted modules with painted pilot figures. There is sufficient space for custom pilot figures or an FPV system without requiring extensive cutting or gluing.
Two-piece wing:
The two-piece EPO wing is connected by two carbon tubes and secured to the model using connectors and four screws. The ailerons and flaps are each operated by separate servos through short, direct wire linkages. The flaps are mounted on four strong pylons.
The tail surfaces are also made of EPO. The rudder and elevator servos are installed directly in the tail section and operate the control surfaces through short, precise linkages.
Electric retractable landing gear:
The model is equipped with electric retractable tricycle landing gear. All landing gear legs are sprung to provide authentic scale take-offs and landings. The steerable nose wheel is fitted with powerful landing and taxi lights.
Functional LED lighting:
Position, anti-collision, landing and taxi lights provide an authentic appearance while improving the visibility of the model. The powerful LEDs remain clearly visible even in bright daylight.
Factory-installed electronics:
Eight factory-installed metal-geared micro servos operate the ailerons, flaps, elevator, rudder and steerable nose wheel. A distribution board supplies the onboard electronics and LED lighting. The connected sequencer controls the timed extension and retraction of the landing gear.
A radio system with at least six channels is sufficient for the basic setup. The ailerons, flaps, elevator and rudder are connected through the distribution board in the standard configuration. The steerable nose wheel is linked to the rudder control.
Recommended flight battery:
A 6S LiPo battery with a capacity of 4500 to 6000 mAh and a discharge rating of at least 40C is required. A 60C battery is recommended for optimum performance. The battery type and position should be selected so that the specified centre of gravity can be achieved without additional ballast wherever possible.
