The Hangar 9 Carbon Cub 15cc EP PNP combines the distinctive Carbon Cub appearance with an impressive wingspan of approximately 2.3 metres and extensive factory-installed equipment. Its lightweight and robust balsa and plywood airframe is covered in high-quality UltraCote film. The brushless power system, Smart ESC and six digital servos are already installed.
The Spektrum Avian 5065-450Kv brushless outrunner is designed for 6S LiPo batteries from 4000 to 7000mAh. It offers versatile performance for scale flying, sport flying and aerobatic manoeuvres. A matching 100A Spektrum Avian Smart ESC is also included.
With a compatible receiver and suitable Spektrum AirWare transmitter, telemetry data such as motor RPM, current draw and battery voltage can be viewed during flight. Power system telemetry from the Smart ESC is available with both Smart and conventional batteries. Available functions depend on the receiver and transmitter used.
Six factory-installed Spektrum A6380 metal-geared digital servos provide control. Functional flaps improve slow-flight performance and allow shorter take-offs and landings. Shock-absorbing scale landing gear and installed LED landing lights complete the equipment package.
Bolt-together assembly requires no glue or special tools. According to the manufacturer, assembly typically takes approximately one to two hours. The separately available receiver must then be installed, and the model must be set up and checked before flight.
The large, magnetically secured windscreen hatch provides convenient access to the flight battery. An additional maintenance hatch between the wings is secured with thumb screws. The two-piece wing features struts that fold against the wing panels, while the wing tube can be stored inside the fuselage for transport and storage.
Fit the optional HAN6030 1/5-scale wooden float set, sold separately, to equip the Carbon Cub for take-offs and landings on suitable bodies of water.
