We have the right adhesive for every area of application. In order to make wooden surfaces particularly easy to iron, we use the liquid adhesives from Oracover. They penetrate into the wood and bond unstable fibres of the surface to the substrate. This prevents these fibres from being torn off when subjected to stress, which can cause the film to come loose, which is usually the cause of wrinkles.

As the torn off fibres are glued to the adhesive layer of the film, the adhesive is blocked. Even re-ironing does not really solve the problem, as the film shrinks, but the adhesive blocked by the torn off fibres can no longer adhere properly to the substrate. The liquid adhesives are identical to the corresponding adhesives of the respective films. Therefore, the adhesive used is always the one that corresponds to the film.

The adhesive consumption is approx. 20g/m² in relation to the dry substance. It is important that the adhesive is completely dry before covering to prevent incompletely evaporated solvent residues from evaporating during ironing and forming bubbles. Should our adhesives dry out a little in opened cans, the adhesive can be adjusted to brush viscosity with the appropriate dilution.

Unstable wood fibres can be torn off by stress. On suboptimally load-bearing substrates, wrinkling and, in the worst case, complete detachment/tearing off of the covering over a longer period of time can be the result if it is not bonded properly. Bonding with the adhesive gives a very durable bond with the substrate, which practically eliminates the risk of the film fluttering.
