With the Apprentice® STS 1.5m, E-flite® has discovered one of the world's most popular club trainers and made it SMARTER. Based on one of the best platforms ever developed for learning how to fly model airplanes, the large wingspan of 1.5 meters offers good visibility and good wind resistance and thus optimal conditions to successfully enter a model flying club into the hobby.

The naturally stable design and the SAFE® technology (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) with the flight modes for beginners, advanced and experts facilitate successful flying, especially with the help of a flight instructor. The new exclusive range ™ Smart components, including a lithium polymer battery (LiPo) and a charger, make the model more comfortable and safe to operate (battery and charger are sold separately for the BNF® Basic version). And best of all, the Apprentice® STS 1.5m now offers the option to upgrade to GPS-based SAFE Plus technology.

This provides features such as AutoLand and Virtual Fence, as well as the option to install the brand new Landing Assist Sensor (LAS), which automatically "floats out" to soften landings. The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version contains everything you need for flying in one box and is the perfect choice if you want to get into flying model sport. From the Spektrum DXe 2.4 GHz transmitter, which you can also bind to other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) and BNF Basic models, to the 3S 3200mAh Smart LiPo battery, which offers long flight times, to the convenient S120 USB-C smart charger, which can be used with a variety of USB power sources. You don't have to buy or deploy anything anymore! A BNF Basic version is also available for experienced pilots and clubs who want to use their preferred spectrum transmitter with existing batteries and chargers.

And for both versions, the powerful and efficient brushless drive system including a Smart ESC as well as the flight controller, receiver and servos is factory installed in the durable EPO airframe. The model is quick and easy to assemble without the need for glue or special tools.
And the fun won't stop after you've learned to fly! In expert mode, the Apprentice STS 1.5m is capable of performing aerobatic manoeuvres including loops, rolls, flying and more. You can even mount the optional floats to take off and land on the water.
