The SkyRC D400 is a dual-channel charger with two independent circuits that can charge two different types of batteries at the same time. In AC mode, it also supports power distribution between both channels to achieve maximum charging power and reduce overall charging time.
Power and Flexibility:
The total output power for channel A and channel B is 400W. For example, the charging power for channel 1 can be set to 300W, leaving 100W available for channel 2. In addition, the D400 offers a 150W DC power supply on channel 2, converting 100–240V AC into 6–15V DC. This can be used to power 12V devices. Please note: channel 2 can either be used as a charger or as a power supply – not both functions simultaneously.
Performance in Practice:
With 2 x 200W per output and operation on both 12V DC and 230V AC, the SkyRC D400 is, in our opinion, the perfect charger. It offers plenty of power, excellent build quality, all common charging programs, and very simple operation at a highly competitive price. With 200W available per output, you can, for example, charge a 6S 22.2V LiPo pack with 3000mAh at around 3C (approx. 9A). The pack will be fully charged again in about 20 minutes. A balancer current of 500mA per cell is more than adequate, as is the discharge current of 5A. A charging current of up to 20A is possible, as long as the output power does not exceed 200W. This means a 3S 11.1V pack can theoretically be charged at around 18A (if the battery manufacturer allows such high charging rates).
Additional Functions:
The unit can also be used for additional functions such as lithium battery voltage display and internal resistance measurement. The SkyRC D400 is a powerful, microprocessor-controlled charging/discharging station with battery management for all common battery types, featuring an integrated balancer for up to 7S LiPo, LiFe and LiIon packs, a maximum charge current of 20A and a maximum discharge current of 5A. 20 battery memory profiles (10 per channel) are available for quick program recall when charging identical packs. The additional LiHV mode allows charging of the new generation of LiPo batteries with an end-of-charge voltage of 4.35V per cell. The charger offers automatic charge current limiting, capacity limit, temperature cutoff and charge time monitoring – all for maximum safety when using the charger and your batteries.
Included Accessories:
The package includes a detailed German manual, two XT60 charging leads, two open-end charging leads, a mains power cable and two XH-type balancer boards. To use the charger on 12V or a car battery, an XT90 charging lead (item 129273) and suitable crocodile clips (item 143902) are additionally required.
