This sport semi-scale aerobatic model is designed for experienced pilots who want to fly both classic aerobatic maneuvers and extreme 3D routines. It can be powered either by a 30–40 cc gasoline engine or by a 2.5–3.5 kW brushless electric motor on 8–12S LiPo, offering maximum flexibility in setup and performance.
The fuselage is built using a traditional structure of laser-cut plywood and balsa components, reinforced in key areas with Kevlar® and carbon. A removable laminated engine cowling and a detachable upper fuselage section with cockpit provide excellent access to the power system and radio equipment. The engine is mounted on a sturdy rear-mounted plywood motor box, ensuring precise alignment and reliable power transfer.
The two-piece wing features a symmetric airfoil and a tapered planform. Each wing half slides onto a tubular carbon joiner and is secured with screws. The wing is traditionally built and fully sheeted with balsa for high torsional stiffness. Large ailerons are controlled by two independent servos, enabling precise roll authority and accurate 3D maneuvers. Included SFG winglets can be installed to further enhance roll rate, tracking, and 3D performance.
The tail surfaces are lightweight all-balsa constructions. The one-piece horizontal stabilizer is glued into the fuselage; both elevator halves are driven by servos mounted in the tail boom with short, straight pushrods. The rudder is actuated by a precise pull-pull cable system, ideal for knife-edge flight and clean directional control.
The entire model is covered with high-quality ULTRACOTE® iron-on film (the US trademark for the well-known Oracover® covering). The tailwheel assembly features carbon main gear legs, laminated wheel pants, and a steerable wire tailwheel connected to the rudder via a carbon bracket—perfect for reliable ground handling on grass or paved strips.
For propulsion, you may use a 30–40 cc gasoline engine or a brushless electric motor with at least 2.5 kW output. A 100 A ESC (or higher) is recommended, powered by an 8–12S LiPo battery (8S: 4400–5000 mAh, 12S: 3300 mAh) with at least a 40C discharge rating, ensuring ample performance for vertical climbs and demanding 3D aerobatics.
Controlling the model requires at least a 6-channel computer radio system. This allows precise adjustment of paired servos, dual rates, and exponential settings—crucial for both smooth classic aerobatic routines and aggressive 3D flight. Suitable servos include fast and strong standard-size servos such as KAVAN GO-1070MG, GO-1081MG, MKS HV777+, Hitec HS-7955TG, D954SW, or similar options.
The kit is well equipped and includes the covered fuselage, wings, and tail surfaces, a molded engine cowling, a full accessory set, carbon landing gear, tailwheel assembly, wheels, and a detailed instruction manual—everything needed for a straightforward assembly process.
