Customer Review: RC Factory Ares XL Flight Test
Our customer Michael recently completed the assembly and maiden flight of the new RC Factory Ares XL and kindly shared his impressions along with several great photos.
The new Ares XL expands the popular Ares lineup with a larger one-meter wingspan and a fully airfoiled wing design, providing improved stability and better performance in windy conditions while maintaining the agility expected from a modern shock flyer.
For the setup, Michael chose the RC Factory power combo available from Voltmaster, including motor, ESC and 3-blade propeller. The aircraft was powered by Extron 3S 1300mAh LiPo batteries and equipped with lightweight Chaservo LV06 servos.
During assembly, the model impressed with excellent fit and finish as well as a straightforward building process. Despite its airfoiled wing construction, the aircraft remains easy to build and suitable for a wide range of pilots.
In flight, the Ares XL quickly demonstrated why RC Factory models are so highly regarded among aerobatic and 3D enthusiasts. The aircraft feels precise, responsive and predictable. Harriers, hovers and advanced 3D maneuvers can be performed with confidence thanks to its excellent control authority.
The recommended power system also delivered outstanding performance, providing strong vertical capability and impressive agility while maintaining low overall weight.
Michael’s conclusion was clear: the Ares XL successfully combines classic shock flyer characteristics with improved stability, creating an aircraft that is equally enjoyable for precision aerobatics and aggressive 3D flying.
