The Arrma - Big Rock 4x4 V3 3S BLX Brushless Monster Truck RTR is a ready-to-use 1/10th scale monster truck that is a major advance over brushed bashing and offers an exciting combination of Arrma toughness, road truck style and a speed of over 80 km/h. Built on the powerful 4x4 BLX platform, precision aluminum, tough steel and composites combine to create an easy-to-maintain, super durable vehicle design that has now been improved to further enhance the monster truck's impressive performance and durability.
The Big Rock 4x4 3S BLX is built tough and fast for exciting speeds and extreme off-road durability. New features that enhance its unstoppable performance include a stronger chassis and retained hinge pin plates, steering with more room for stones, a crenellated sliding surface and interlocking sliding wheels, longer suspension arms for a 1.10 inch wider width and full-length rubber-shielded bearings.
It now includes a Spektrum SLT3 transmitter and SLR300 receiver. The transmitter is ergonomically designed for long, fatigue-free bashing and features a foam wheel for precise fingertip control, as well as an improved grip and trigger feel. New bashers will be able to adjust the throttles to 50% or 75% until they are ready to use the full speed potential. The SLT3 is compatible with Tactic and SLT receivers to operate other RTR vehicles you may own and includes a third channel to control optional features such as lights and winches on models that have them.
Arrma now powers the Big Rock 4x4 3S BLX with a brushless system that features its BLX100 ESC controller and Spektrum 3200Kv brushless motor. The combination provides incredible torque, acceleration and speed. The gearbox and chassis are robustly constructed to take full advantage of the power of the electronics.
The ingenious modular design has been perfected by Arrma engineers to facilitate component access and maintenance. The power module with improved dirt management consists of the motor with Arrma heat sink and cooling fan, as well as the motor plate, slipper clutch assembly and transmission cover. The power module can be removed as a complete unit from the chassis by removing just one screw. With the power module removed, the slipping clutch can be easily accessed for adjustments by removing three screws securing the transmission cover. The gear ratio can be finely adjusted as the power module now uses a sliding motor gear.
A two-piece molded part that is bolted to the truck's chassis serves as the electronics module, which contains a waterproof receiver box, servo mount and ESC tray. The SLR300 receiver is mounted inside the receiver box to protect it from dirt and moisture. The ultra-compact ESC is screwed onto the top of the module and allows quick access to the on/off switch while the servo is mounted on the side. All three components can be removed together, quickly and easily.
The differential module houses each differential unit in an innovative yoke design. Only eight screws need to be removed to release the front and rear yoke. The power module can then be removed, allowing you to swivel the gear cases for access to the differential. The Big Rock 4x4 3S BLX RTR comes brushless with 37T 1.35mod diffs with silicone O-rings. The large gears can withstand high torque and the internal metal gears have been selected for their reliability under extreme shocks.
The 4WD full-time transmission uses strong telescopic drive shafts at the front, rear and centerline, which, unlike the dogbones, cannot get lost in heavy impacts. A simple, reliable, responsive steering assembly complements the highly reliable drive system and features a servo horn with built-in servo saver. The Big Rock 4x4 3S BLX RTR incorporates the SPMS651 waterproof digital servo spectrum with metal gears for 15% more torque than the previous version's ADS-7M servo.
The self-venting, oil-filled shock absorbers, now with silicone O-rings, use a proven, oversized design for easy maintenance and amazing handling. Their innovative rod end has a cast-in spring support for added toughness. Extended height dirt deflectors and a close-fitting body limit the amount of dirt and debris that can get into the chassis pan.
