The FrSky ADVANCE (ADV) series has comprehensive sensor types and improves the performance and capability of the original sensor line. All ADV sensors fully support FBUS protocol and are also compatible with S.Port. With FBUS protocol, ADV sensors can be seamlessly paired with FBUS-enabled receivers, further simplifying device setup.

The VARI ADV variometer sensor calculates altitude from atmospheric pressure, which decreases with increasing altitude. This allows the sensor to measure altitude up to 10000 m with an accuracy tolerance of 0.1 m. Accurate measurement cannot be made if atmospheric pressure changes due to weather.
