A full 10 Hz telemetry GPS with micro SD memory card, TEK Vario, and accelerometer!
The new version 3 replaces the GPS logger 2 and remains fully compatible.
The new hardware offers:
- a new GPS module for better GPS reception even under difficult conditions
- further improved pressure sensors for even finer vario resolution with lower noise
- a horizontal TEK connector for easier installation especially in tight spaces
The GPS-Logger 3 is a fully featured GPS system specifically designed for model making applications, it is small and lightweight but has excellent features and capabilities.
With a recording rate of up to 10 Hz and the micro-SD memory card, recordings of almost any length with high detail resolution are possible.
Telemetry over 2.4 GHz systems with Rückkanal is an integral part of the GPS-Logger 3 and fully integrated.
In accordance with our philosophy of supporting as many systems as possible, the GPS-Logger 3 also speaks telemetry of:
- Jeti Duplex
- Multiplex M-Link
- Graupner HoTT
- Futaba
- JR DMSS
- FrSky
- Spectrum (via spectrum adapter)
The telemetry used must only be specified once in the GPS logger 3 settings. This is done either via our PC program "GPS converter" or with the UniDisplay. In the delivery condition HoTT is selected.
The GPS-Logger 3 realizes with an integrated high-resolution pressure sensor via telemetry a high-quality vario and allows with the integrated TEK connection also the use of compensation solutions. This provides a Vario function that displays very accurately real climbing and descending independently of the
"Knüppelthermik".
Füfor an exact Hühen measurement also during operation with TEK Düse a second pressure sensor is integrated, which supplies correct Hühen data independently of the speed.
Results about the loads in flight are supplied by the integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor. The acceleration of all three axes can be displayed here at any waypoint in the recording and also via telemetry.
The new competition format OLC, the Online Contest, is also optimally supported by the GPS logger 3. The built-in noise sensor (ENL = engine noise level) provides data that automatically identifies the engine running times during climb. The IGC file necessary for the OLC is created directly on the memory card and digitally signed, no conversion software is required.
Ebenso the GPS-Logger 3 can be used for another competition format, namely Soaringleague.
Soraingleague.net is a new website for easy online evaluation of sail flights with any model. It couldn't be simpler!
When using Multiplex M-Link all data on the sensor bus are automatically logged by the GPS-Logger 3 and also written to the memory card > MSB data logger.
In addition to the own measured values the GPS-Logger 3 can also read the complete data of our UniLog 1 + 2 and UniSens-E live üvia a direct connection cable and write it to the memory card.
Üvia our UniDisplay all measured values of the GPS-Logger 3 can be directly viewed live. Of course, all settings and alarms can also be conveniently programmed via the display. The data is displayed and evaluated in 3D in Google EarthTM. For the conversion into the Google EarthTM format is only our free software "SM GPS Converter" and the also free Google EarthTM in the standard version nötig.
Also by the well-known software LogView our GPS-Logger 3 is supported. Here the GPS data can also be converted into the Google EarthTM format. In addition, the values can also be displayed in normal waveform / tabular form and much more.
On Java basis and thus also suitable for Mac or Linux besides Windows, there is the GNU DataExplorer for data evaluation.
No matter whether glider, aerobatic, helicopter, HLG or slowflyer, the GPS-Logger 3 can be used due to its low weight and compact size almost in any area. Of course, the GPS-Logger 3 is not only suitable for model flying. It can also be installed in RC boats,
RC cars etc..
Features of the GPS-Logger 3:
- 10 Hz GPS, i.e. 10 measured values per second
- particularly good resolution of data
- micro SD Memory Card
- nearly unlimited recording and easy readout of data
- Data is stored as plain text on the memory card
- Further processing with many programs possible
- high resolution Vario with TEK connection
- Höhen measurement with second pressure sensor with automatic zero setting after switch-on
- integrated 3-axis acceleration sensor up to +- 16 g
- direct creation of the IGC file for the Online Contest (OLC) with integrated motor noise sensor for ENL measurement
- full telemetry support for Jeti Duplex, Multiplex M-Link, Graupner HoTT, Futaba, JR DMSS, FrSky and Spektrum (via spectrum adapter)
- direct connection of UniLog 1 + 2 and UniSens-E possible for data recording (not during Futaba, JR DMSS and FrSky operation)
- Recording of all data on the multiplex sensor bus during operation with M-Link
- Connection for receiver signal for remote control of certain functions
- Receiver battery voltage recording
- Power supply by receiver battery
- internal backup battery for a quick start of the GPS
- Start of the recording adjustable by different conditions

- Parameter settings via PC, UniDisplay and telemetry possible
- Fast conversion of the data into the 3D representation with Google EarthTM by our free "SM GPS Converter" software.
Support by the GNU DataExplorer Software:
The GNU DataExplorer is as extensive as LogView and suitable for Mac and Linux besides Windows.
